The preparation phase can be daunting and exhausting, there are so many things lined up that sometimes you forget about the small little things that might help you sail smoothly through your wedding day.
Here is a list of things which you might need to keep handy to avoid any kind of emergency situation on your wedding day.
  • Sweat Pads : Wedding outfits are beautiful but very heavy and has multiple layers most of the time, especially in Indian wedding all the puja's and phera's can leave you sweating even in an air conditioned hall, your wedding photographer wont be able to edit those underarm sweat marks. Wearing sweat pads can be a savior in such scenarios.
  • Hanky/ Tissue : Now that we are talking about sweating, makeup can control oil but not sweat. Its a good idea to pack for hanky or facial tissues to dab away any sweat and keep your makeup fresh for longer.
  • Perfume : It is of utmost importance to carry a good perfume in your emergency kit, as you would be coming in close contact with a lot of people, and smelling good is an integral part of a groomed lady.
  • Lipstick : No matter how long lasting lipstick your makeup artist uses on you, your lipstick is bound to fade with eating and drinking it is wise to pack for a similar color of lipstick which you are planning to wear on your wedding day.
  • Comb : This is the most forgotten item in any kit, if you have hair on your head you need to pack a comb. period.
  • Safety pins : Even after double checking there can be mishaps, having safety pins can be handy in fixing small stuff like broken blouse hooks or anything that needs fixing.
  • Bobby pins/ U pins : There might be situations when even after using 100's of pins in fixing your hairstyle, a flower decides to pop out due to all the dancing that you did or because of relatives blessing you.
  • Earring backs : Now this is something you always need to have extra. Wearing your earring is mostly one of the last things you would do while dressing up and there are high chances of dropping and losing the earring back while trying to hurry up for your muhurtam time. Having extra earring backs can be very helpful at such times.
  • Matching Bindi : This is another small item that lot of brides-to-be forget to add in their kits, you need to have extra packets of Bindi which you think goes along with your attire, as this is also one of the last thing you would do after you hair and makeup is done, something that looked good earlier without the makeup and hair might look different after you get ready, having options is always a good idea.
  • Scissors : This is another important item to have in your kit, you will always run into something (like extra thread from the saree or cutting of the price tag from your new clothes) that needs to be trimmed or cut.
  • Nail Polish : Sometimes through the process of getting ready there are chances that you would chip off your nail paint, it is a good idea to carry a back up for such situations or else it would ruin all the close up pictures of your hands.
  • Mint/ Mouth freshener : Now that you are ready to head out and face people it is a good idea to carry some mints/ mouth freshner, as bad breath can be a huge turn off and confidence dampening thing.
  • Energy Bar : You probably will not get time to eat well on your wedding day and back to back pujas and getting ready can leave you famished, energy bars can boost up your energy instantly and help you sail through hours of standing/ sitting/ smiling.
  • Bottle of water : This has to be a really important thing to carry as dehydration can cause number of issues. It is best to keep yourself Hydrated at all time.
  • Pain killers/ Band-aids : Having a headache during your rituals can be a common thing due to less sleep/ dehydration/ stress , packing for general pain killers and band-aids can be very handy.
  • Makeup remover : You will be super tired by the end of your function and if you have your makeup done by a professional it will take several washes to get rid off, hence its a good idea to pack for a good makeup remover or makeup wipes which can help you save time and energy without tugging and harming your skin.
  • Moisturizer : Do not forget to pack for a moisturizer as your skin would need extra pampering after all the washing and back to back makeup application.
  • A friend : Okay lastly the most important thing .You will need a friend/ sister/cousin anyone to take care of your kit and hand you with things that you would need while you be super busy with your rituals and facing the camera's.
